Located on the historic Mostertsdrift estate, the Stias Perdestalle (Old Stables) represents a masterful blend of 18th-century heritage and 21st-century academic innovation. Bambou was proud to be part of the specialized team tasked with the sensitive restoration and refurbishment of these historic structures for Stellenbosch University.

Our work focused on preserving the original thick-walled masonry and unique architectural character while integrating modern infrastructure to support research and creative intellectual exchange. By balancing “old-school” values with technical precision, we ensured that this landmark building remains a functional, inspiring space for the global community of STIAS fellows.
